Materials:  Thai silk, Dupioni silk, Tassar silk, Silk Ramie, Ramie with bamboo fiber, Silk with fiddlehead fern cotton, Kimono fragments, Japanese woven cottons, Commercial cottons, Bamboo and cotton batting.

 

 

Techniques:  Foundation piecing, machine piecing, machine quilting

 

 

Size:  54.5" x 34.5"

 

 

 Artist Statement

 Inspired by the garden paths in Kamakura, Japan.

A mixture of flat top paving stones are set into a rectangular strip.

Ishi-Datami literally means "stone tatami".

The quilt contains over 3500 individual pieces.
